AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: First round, goals and goal makers in South Africa

The first round of the 2013 AFCON in South Africa has come to an end with 49 goals been scored in 24 matches which is definitely an average of 2 goals. The tournament which began with a cyclonic rainfall where fans never felt wet supporting their favourite teams.

AFCON 2012 was a tournament of great goals compared to this year (2013) which’s average is of 61 goals and an average of 2.5 goals per match.

From the group ranking of goals, one could clearly see from all indications that Group D, the group of death truly topped all the groups in goals.

A third of the goals came in the last 15 minutes of the game and in added time with Nando also creating an own goal during the match of Cape Verde vs. Angola.

 

The tournament came with categories of goals, which are as follows:

AFCON 2013 saw a number of 10 Penalties in the first round with 6 players scoring and 4 players missing it out for their beloved teams.

The 2013 AFCON has seen smaller teams like Togo and Cape Verde making it through the first round and it’s been a celebration in Togo and

Cape Verde as they have made it through.

The favourites have also stood to their grounds not disappointing their fans, supporters, coaches and team-mates. The next round of the tournament continues with the quarter -finals where the decision of who takes the trophy home is decided by each team as they come back on the pitch to fight for the Africa Cup of Nations Trophy.

Which team makes it is yet unknown, so keep our fingers cross for the best is yet to come from each qualified Nation.
