And that was just the singles.

The total number of tennis fans who came through the Melbourne Park turnstiles this year are 684, 457.

Honorable mentions go to Garbiñe Muguruza and Magdalena Rybarikova for their three hour, 20 minute effort. 208 – The number of minutes needed by Alizé Cornet to defeat Marina Erakovic in the first round, making it the longest match of the tournament.

The speed in miles per hour of the fastest serve of the fortnight, hit by Serena Williams – first against Muguruza and then once more for good measure in her third round with Ayumi Morita is 128.

79 – Serena’s two 128mph bombs helped her win 79% of her first service points.

55 – The number of players at this year’s tournament who were yet to be born when Kimiko Date-Krummmade her Australian Open debut in 1990. At 42 years and 109 days, Date-Krumm became the oldest player ever to win a match at the Australian Open when she knocked out Nadia Petrova in the opening round.

0 – Prior to her quarterfinal with Sloane Stephens, Serena Williams had never lost to an American player younger than her.
