The incident which happened at the recently completed Arena do Gremio which is not part of next year’s World Cup in Brazil saw several fans injured when a fence collapsed during the so-called “avalanche” celebration.
However, the celebration which is common among South American saw and involved supporters running down the terraces en masse toward the rear.
This happened after Elano scored the host in the 16th minute on Wednesday a match between Ecuadorean sides Liga Quito in Porto Alegre, the fence behind one of the goal posts went falling.
