Africa Uganda: Meddie Kagere returns to Rwanda

Kagere who stayed in Entebbe during off season scored a goal in his team’s 2-all draw last weekend, before scoring a brace in their 6-0 victory over Marines last evening.

The Ugandan born striker Meddie Kagereaftyer returning from Tunisia, is back to his home in the Rwanda top league a fortnight ago, the Amavubi Star signed for his former club Police FC.

According to African soccer weekly site, the win pushed Police FC further ahead of rivals Rayon Sport, Kiyovu FC and defending champions APR FC. Ernest Kwizera also netted a brace, while Jack Tuyisenge and Victor Arce picked the other goals. After spending only five months in the Tunisian Premier League, Esperance Sportive de Zarsis released Kagere three weeks ago.

The striker left Police FC in Rwanda to join Esperance five months ago for close to US$150,000. Last week the striker told Kawowo Sports that his contract in Tunisia had been terminated because the team filed for bankruptcy. Before heading to Tunisia, Kagere featured for Atraco, Mukura and Police FC.
