Caribbean Boxing : Nicholas “The Axeman” is back to training

According to the gleaner, following an extended holiday in Jamaica after the world title on the 8th December when “The Axeman” – Nicholas Walters with a seventh – round technical knockout victory over Daulis Prescott of Colombia has taken the title by the World Boxing Association (WBA) as featherweight Champion.

He is set to have returned to his training camp in Panama and is now preparing for his first title defence. Under the rules of the WBA, he must make his debut defence by April, against no other but a boxer rated in the top 15 of the WBA.

However, his manager Jacques Deschamps will have discussions with the WBA and get from them a short list of available challengers.

If Nicholas is able to defend his title against the No. 1 contender within the year of been a champion then for him it will be till December of this year.

Walter who is very popular in Panama is doing his roadwork in the mornings and gym works in the afternoon and is taking his training seriously to the achievement of his career.
