Eastern Africa Uganda: Friendly match held for Rwanda and Cranes

Uganda Cranes have started preparing for Rwanda. Bobby Williamson the National coach will have an opportunity to try out basically his home based players against a Rwandan outfit, when the two clash in an international friendly on February 6.

For international matches that are due in Kigali is fixed on the official FIFA date and will help wake up the team, which has never trained together ever since they won the CECAFA title last year.

They will also give some talented players, who did not get much playing time in CECAFA a chance to prove themselves. The players to start training will be named over the weekend, but Bobby will be looking at continuing with mostly those players that took part in CECAFA, as a way of building a strong team, with the foreign based players coming is as fill up.

Rwanda that is being coached by former Villa coach Micho Srodejovic has already confirmed to host the match at Amahoro stadium and the match has been registered by FIFA, according to a release from the national soccer federation.

“FUFA is already in receipt of a confirmation letter from Kigali pertained to the same. The match will give head coach Bobby Williamson an opportunity to try out the current status of the available players ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers engagements due in March,” read a release from Rogers Mulindwa, the head of communication at the Uganda  FA.
