It was all thrilling as the two West African countries took to the field of play to justify their inclusion in the semi-finals of the AFCON and being amongst the favourites in the tournament, one couldn’t expect anything less.
The star-studded team of Ivory Coast led by Didier Drogba did not find it easy as the Nigerian defense did all they could to stop the gigantic Drogba from scoring.

Having virtually equal chances at goal, both teams found themselves in a 1-1 draw after a Nigeria’s Emenike put his team forward first and then Cheik Tiote getting the equalizer. Sunday Mba of Nigeria struck his ball straight into the net in a perfect chance at goal putting Nigeria in the lead again.
The game ended that way with Nigeria qualifying and wil be facing Mali in the semi finals.
