Africa Rugby : Kenya Harlequin are praying for a miracle

Defending champions Kenya Harlequin are praying for a miracle as the pool stages of the Kenya Cup draws that come to a close on Saturday in Nairobi.

The champions will finish their group campaign at home against league leaders Nakuru RFC and they need to win by a bonus point and pray that Mwamba lose without gaining any points, in order for them to qualify for the play-offs of the league.

Quins head coach Charles Cardovillis insists that they cannot give up hope and plans to lead his charges to fight to the bitter end before throwing in the towel.

“I know our chances are very slim, and what we need is something just short of a miracle, but this is sport and anything can happen,” he said.

Meanwhile Mwamba captain Salaton Muturi has expressed his side’s desire to make it to the Kenya Cup play-offs.
