Some Ghanaian supporters for the recent just ended AFCON in South Africa have been left stranded three days after the tournament

They were however airlifted to South Africa to support the Black Stars of Ghana. The officials in Ghana responsible for their come back to Ghana have probably neglected them, a few of the supporters who were ready to speak to the Ghanaian media appealed to the Ghanaian Football Association and government to come to their aid.

“We have been stranded here for about three days. We are still at a hotel and have been asked to check out by 12:30 probably taking us back to the airport. Even though we are getting ready, we are not sure whether we will get a flight or not,” one male supporter said.

Another male supporter also noted, “We were served breakfast every morning during the tournament but after we were brought back yesterday, this morning, there was no breakfast but by the time money was sent for it, breakfast time was over.”

One female supporter also added, “Those of us without the return ticket and those of us who did not find our names on the list of those going on Monday and Tuesday are still here so what they so they told us they will get us another chartered flight on Thursday because the South Africa flights don’t leave on Wednesday.”

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana is not happy with the present situation and has also appealed to the Communications Minister Dr. Omane Boamah who was appointed as the Coordinator by the President John Mahama. The Minister claims to be in touch with the Travel agency responsible for the stranded supporters return.

The flight is however said to be re-scheduled for Friday.
