Africa Nigeria : Camp to be opened early by Super Eagles

Nigeria Champions of the 2013 Nations Cup will resume their camping in Calabar for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifications against Kenya.

Camp of the Super Eagles for the qualifiers would be opened in the first week of March, as coach Stephen Keshi and his team look set for the epic FIFA tournament in Brazil.

The Super Eagles will on Saturday, 23rd March, 2013 take on Kenya in the World Cup qualifiers at the U. J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Barrister Musa Amadu revealed that the home based players will be the first to hit camp, and the foreign based players will join a week before the game.

“Now that we are the champions of Africa, we know that every team will prepare much harder whenever they are to play Nigeria. We don’t want to leave ourselves open to any sucker punch. Getting to the top and staying there requires a lot of hard work,” Amadu said.

Nigeria top their group, Group F with four points after two games, and only one team from the group qualifies for the final phase of the qualifiers.

The NFF secretary said Nigerians would be happy to see Super Eagles emerge as champions at the upcoming tournament.
