Africa Ghana : Conditions set for Ghana by Jordan Ayew

Jordan Ayew younger brother of Dede “Andre” Ayew and son of legend Abedi Pele revealed his temporal retirement as intent to work hard and obtain the quality experience and stature needed to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.

“The reasons for my decision, although personal, I believe, would eventually inure to the benefit of the Black Stars,” Jordan Ayew said in his retirement letter to the GFA.

“The reason being that in this period of my temporary absence I intend not only to work hard in my club as a young player so I can obtain the quality, experience and stature necessary for a call up to play in the national team.

“But also ensure that my membership of the national team when I soon come out of my temporary resignation endures in a more secure manner so as to avoid the situation where I am unsure as to when my services are required for the national team.”

The Marseille attacker who was excluded by Coach Kwesi Appiah from the 23 – man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa has scored two goals making 10 appearances for Ghana.
