Football Beckham and Zidane on the Champs-Elysées

The Legends Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham were reunited thursday by Beckham’s sponsor Adidas for an autograph session with fans at the Champs-Elysées.

Beckham said that of all the players he played alongside with in Manchester United, Real Madrid, the L.A. Galaxy, AC Milan and now Paris Saint-Germain, Zidane was the best.

“Zidane was the best player who I played with,” Beckham said about the 1998 French World Cup hero. “He is a gentleman, and to be here with him is very special. For me, in addition to being the best player, he is the best person.”

Both were part of the “Galacticos” team at Real Madrid, which also featured Ronaldo, Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos, Raul, Iker Casillas and Guti.

Beckham wasn’t the only one full of praise, as Zidane said of his former teammate’s recent return to European soccer, “It does not surprise me. He came quietly, he played twenty minutes in his first match (last Sunday in Ligue 1). It is a good start but it is still far to see the David Beckham we all want to see. Anyway, he showed that he is still present at his age.”

Beckham picked up a yellow card in his last match, and he helped set up a goal in his debut for PSG.
