Euro 2020 Premier League : Next season to have Goal-line technology placed at all 20 stadiums

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) is looking forward to implement a goal-line technology and the Premier League are in “advanced talks”  with two of the three licensed providers of the technology, Hawkeye and GoalRef.

The meeting is to hold in Edinburgh on Saturday where the game’s law will be announced following the first use of the technology in Japan at the FIFA’s Club World Cup in December which was a great success.

Dan Johnson, Premier League Communications director Dab Johnson said clubs could say a no but would be compulsory for all 20 sides who will benefit from the bumper new television deals from next season meanwhile the technology should be implemented by August.

“We are in advanced discussions with two of the companies who provide the systems and we are working on the basis of having goal-line technology in place for the start of the season.

“All clubs will have to have the system to ensure the universal integrity of the competition, including those who are promoted,” he said:

Hawkeye is a camera – based system whiles GoalRef uses sensors on the posts and crossbars which detect changes in the magnetic field when the ball crosses the line.

German firm CAIROS, has been licensed as the third company by FIFA and a fourth company is also underway.

FIFA would have to report to IFAB that both system worked absolutely well with errors in Japan where all 21 goals where flashed to the referees wrist watch once the ball crossed the line within a second.
