Africa Ligue 1 / Steve Mandanda : “I’m not in the best season of my career”

Steve Mandanda does not display the same level of performance on the field.

Since his arrival at Marseille in 2007, the Franco-Congolese keeper was unanimous. But this season, the captain of the OM is concern in recent games.

A gag goal in Valenciennes, a failed output against Montpellier, and still bad in Paris: errors begin to multiply for Mandanda, who reassures no defense on set pieces. Nevertheless, OM and Elie Baup keep blind faith in their captain.
In an interview with La Provence, the native of Kinshasa, admits not be at his top level currently:

“As so often this season we have conceded one or two occasions. Sometimes I have the chance to make the decision that makes the difference, sometimes this is not the case, as against Troyes. It is true that, in other circumstances, I was better than that. But we add a lot of time. ‘
“I do not necessarily have to explain. The only thing to do is to work to try to become decisive and efficient. Why be worried? I know it will come at some point or another. When I need to stop, I am found decisive. Today, I am not necessarily efficient. But I’m not worried about it more. I know that I work, my efforts will eventually pay. This is not the best season of my career. When you’re so good, you have to accept things. The experience makes me think so. I do not watch anything that is written or said, but I am aware of. I’m international, captain and a leader of a club whose performance must be publicized, they are challenging to me. It’s like that. ‘
