Oboabona Nigerian footballer who was born in Ondo was on Tuesday honoured by Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko of Nigeria who has fulfilled his promise to the footballer.
The footballer who started his career from the state’s football academy to rising stars and then later to Sunshine Stars in Ondo State where the captain is currently was presented with keys to a bungalow and a cheque of One million Naira from the Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
The governor believed Oboabona helped Nigeria win the Africa Cup of Nations for the third time. The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Eni Akinsola, noted that the footballer deserved to be honoured for doing the state and the nation proud.
Oboabona, promised to continue to do his best whiles thanking the Governor and the state government for their support. Oboaboana was also charged by the governor to put in more effort and remain humble and assured the footballer of the governments support for him.
