Basket-ball NBA : World Peace injured during a “Harlem Shake”

World Peace twisted his ankle in Tuesday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and initial x-rays were inconclusive, but in the meantime World Peace joked that doing the “Harlem Shake” caused him to twist his ankle: “I was doing the Harlem Shake,” World Peace said. “Then I twisted my ankle. But it’s all right.”
Why would he do that?
“I hit a three and just thought I’d do the Harlem Shake,” said World Peace, perhaps seeing the Miami Heat do the same thing. “But it’ll be okay. We’re soldiers.”

Of course, Metta did explain how he actually hurt his ankle. In the fourth quarter he stepped on Serge Ibaka’s foot. World Peace expects to play Wednesday night against the New Orleans Hornets, though he will undergo further tests on his ankle prior to the tip-off.

World Peace said he accidentally stepped on Serge Ibaka’s foot in the final minutes in the fourth quarter. World Peace maintains the ankle just feels “sore” and vows he will play when the Lakers (30-31) play toni ght at New Orleans (21-40). But World Peace will have further tests today on his ankle.

While the Lakers will assess the injury further Wednesday, World Peace did not leave the game early, and was walking on his ankle post-game.
