Franco-Togolese kayaker born on August 4, 1981 at Lagny-sur-Marne (France)
, he defends the colors of Togo in slalom

Career

Benjamin Boukpéti have started practicing Kayak at the age of 10 and have chosen the slalom at 15 years old.

He was selected in 2006 to compete under the colors of Togo. Member of the team of Amadonsa based in South Africa

Boukpéti was trained by the French Jean-Jérôme Perrin

He participated the first time in the Olympic Games in 2004 in Athens and finished 18th in the semi-finals

Benjamin Boukpeti studied management in Toulouse. He is a member of the Champions for Peace Club, a group of 54 athletes created by Peace and Sport, an international organization based in Monaco and working to build sustainable peace through sport.

Palmarès
January 2008: He wins the first Kayak African Championships in Nairobi
July 2008: At the Kayak World Cup, he finished 2nd
2008: Bronze medalist at the Beijing Olympics in China. This is the first Olympic medal for Togo.

Unfortunately the bronze medalist at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 will not be present at the London Olympics for not having obtained his qualification ticket.

The last chance of the French-born flew Saturday in South Africa last February where the Canoe Kayak African Championships took place.
