After the incident that occurred on Valentine’s Day involving the South African sprinter Oscar Pistorius who killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, many other events followed among which the bail gotten by Pistorius.
Reeva Steenkamp’s uncle Mike Steenkamp spoke to journalists following the model’s funeral service in Port Elizabeth. Breaking down in tears, with Reeva’s brother by his side, he said that before her death Reeva had planned to become an active campaigner against abuse directed at women.
In an interview with CNN, Reeva Steenkamp’s uncle, Mike Steenkamp said that he was ready to forgive Oscar Pistorius :
“I’ve forgiven Oscar and that’s actually helped me,” he said. “It’s strengthened me so much that I can manage to cope with daily life.”
