No more doubt about the effective holding of Afrobaket in Abidjan.

The 27th edition will be held from 17 to 28 August. The announcement was made during a press conference last Friday. And outside of the event, an official launch will take place on March 22.

Following the conference, the president of the organizing committee and also the director of the event, Sidiki Fofana Abubakar assured the media on the holding of the competition.

The president was flanked by the first head of the Ivorian Federation of Basketball (FIBB) Aboubakari Touré. According to him, in spite of some inherent difficulties in any organization, things are moving in the right direction and he thinks that by May 2013, the rehabilitation and the additional work required by Fiba Africa will be completed.

Côte d’Ivoire, on the podium in 81 and 85 aims for the title.

16 nations will take part in this event next August. The draw will take place on March 30.
