Brazil 2014 South Africa : Bafana promised perfect pitch

Cape Town officials are confident that the pitch for Saturday’s 2014 World Cup qualifications between South Africa and the Central African Republic will be perfect.
Councillor Grant Pascoe, who is the executive mayoral committee member for tourism, events and marketing on the city council, told the supersport.com website that extensive work had been done after the surface looked patchy and broke up easily when Ajax Cape Town hosted Moroka Swallows just days after the the mid-season break.
The club then moved their next home game to the Athlone Stadium, against Bloemfontein Celtic on February 19, because of the concern over the state of the Cape Town Stadium pitch.
“We have worked very hard on the pitch, it will be in a great state,” Pascoe told reporters.“We have worked to get it perfect”.

Bafana coach Gordon Igesund said he planned to wet the surface before the kick off.

“I like to have a softer pitch. We will put the sprinklers on before the game starts.”
The state of pitches at some of the 2010 World Cup stadium has become a major topic of concern in recent months.
