Africa Coup d’Etat in the Central African Republic: footballers stranded in South Africa

The central delegation has delayed its return to Bangui while news from the CAR capital are not reassuring.

While they fought this weekend the third day of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers with a defeat to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, the Fauves of Ubangi learned the coup d’état in the country.

So, expected to return for Sunday, Central Africans are still in South Africa. Professionals should go directly to Europe in the evening on Monday while the locals should go through Cameroon. Until the situation is regularized in Bangui.

Saturday, rebels took control of the Central African capital, forcing President François Bozizé to take to his heels.
