Bad news for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The Cameroonian striker of Mainz (Bundesliga) will not play again over the entire season. He just had surgery for the second time on the knee and will be out for the rest of the championship.

“It’s obviously sad for Maxim to undergo the same injury that had cost him nearly six months of absence. We hope now that he will be up for the preparation of the next season”, said manager Axel Schuster on the club’s official website.

The Indomitable Lion, 24 years old has played just nine matches of the championship this season. It is also a loss for Cameroon which should dispense with his services in June for the 2014 World Cup playoffs.
