Eritrea is truly the livewell of African cycling. Here is once again the illustration of this after the good performance of the young Natnael Berhane at the Tour of Turkey. Last Sunday, the rider of the Europcar team finished second in the competition, endorsing for several days the leader’s jersey and removing to the passage the most difficult stage of the Tour.

Aged of 22 years, Berhane is the new prodigy of world cycling, agree all observers of cycling. Voted best African cyclist in 2012, he was especially brilliant in the Tropical Amissa Bongo of Gabon, the Tour of Algeria and has already been double African champion of Road Cycling.

Behind his elder Daniel Teklehaymanot, Berhane will soon appear on the biggest tours in Europe. Beginning perhaps as early this year  by the big loop. This new generation also has in its ranks Kudus Merhawi.
