Africa Nigeria : Super Eagles getting ready for Mexico game

Contrary to the belief that Mexico will just take lightly the upcoming friendly with the Super Eagles of Nigeria,their coach Jose Manuel De La Torre has revealed that they will be very serious with the game. Nigeria will on May 31st take on the Mexican national team in Houston,USA, in one of their preparatory games for the hectic month of June,that will see Nigeria play two World Cup qualifiers and also the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil.

Home-based Super Eagles players are expected to get their American visas on Friday ahead of the international friendly match against Mexico which comes up May 31st in the United States of America, said Completesportsnigeria today.

This much was revealed to Complete Sports by Nigeria Football Federation spokesman, Demola Olajire.

The players,we gathered were at the American embassy in Abuja on Tuesday accompanied by goalkeepers trainer,Ike Shorunmu.

“The players went to the American embassy on Tuesday in Abuja to finalize all the necessary travelling arrangements. And all things being equal, they will be getting the visas on Friday.”

“Also the team’s goalkeepers trainer,Ike Shorunmu went with the players to have his visa renewed and hopefully, he alongside the players will get the visas on Friday,” Olajire assured.

He stated further that the international friendly match against Mexico will afford the team the opportunity to prepare ahead of the busy schedule in June.

“The international friendly match against Mexico is one game that we are really looking forward to. It is one game that will go a long way in preparing the team ahead of the World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup in Brazil. We look forward to a wonderful game.”

The last time both teams met was in an international friendly match in 2007 with the game ending 2-2. Seattle Saunders forward Obafemi Martins scored both goals for the Eagles.
