Busy months of May for the fans of rally in Africa, with of course the Zambia International Rally, 3rd round of the African Championship from 17 to 19. A week very interesting since there will also be the rally Total at the opening of the season in Madagascar, the Kenyan 4th round, a rally in Tanzania and the second round of the Championship of Reunion (The Reunion Auto Tour was the only “asphalt” round of the African Championship in the early 2000s)

Uganda is opening the ball with the 3rd round of the championship. The rally in Uganda, called the “Pearl”, played this year from 16 to 18 September is a crucial round of the continental championship. Ideally placed on the calendar, it is often the scene of great battles for the title. Mohammed Essa was sacred there at two rounds to the end in 2012.

Uganda has very good drivers like Ponsiano Lwakataka, winner of the first round on a Subaru and Ronald Sebuguzi who won the second round with a Mitsubishi (photo).

The local star, Jas Mangat who has been involved in a few events outside the country experienced a laborious early season but he showed during the Mosac sprint, a non-championship race, as his speed remains intact.
More than thirty crews will start this 3rd round with Susan Muwonge who ranked 8th in the world lady drivers by rallyworldranking.
