Africa Confederations Cup 2013: Three African referees designated!

They will be three men in black from the continent to officiate during the next month at the Confederations Cup in Brazil. FIFA announced on Monday all the referees of the competition (see complete list here).

The three representatives of Africa are from the Maghreb and are from two countries. The Algerian Djamel Haimoudi will be the only central, while his compatriot Abdelhak Etchiali and the Moroccan Redouane Achik will officiate as assistants.

The Confederations Cup is a dress rehearsal for a year before the World Cup. Eight teams divided into two groups are expected in Brazil from June 15 to 30. A team from Africa namely Nigeria, African defending champion is involved. The other countries are Spain, the current world and European champions, Italy EURO 2012 finalist, Uruguay champion of South America, the host of the tournament Brazil, Mexico current Olympic champion, Japan Asian champion and Tahit champion of Oceania and newcomer to the competition.
