The Flying Eagles have stumbled in their opening match in Group B of the International Festival of Hopes in Toulon. Opposed to Mexico on Wednesday, Nigeria lost 2-0.

The Mexican goals were scored in each half of the match. The first that occurred in the 27th minute was the work of Zavala. The second is scored during the second half at the 71st by Abella.

The other African representative, DR Congo played its first game of the tournament on Thursday against France.
