Christophe-Vissant-300x199It is the unimaginable bet that has launched the French athlete. Christophe Vissant (44) has decided to join, by running Cairns (Australia) starting from Marseille, more than 28,000 miles without rest. A distance that is the equivalent of 667 marathons.

To accomplish this challenge, he will run “everyday, 75 kilometers,” he said.

“If one day I run only 65 kilometers, it means that I should catch up the next 10 kilometers the following day.”

It is the race that should last a year for an ecological reason: “The message of this challenge is the threat of extinction of the largest” living being “of the planet, the only one we can see from the moon is the great Barrier Reef in the Pacific.”

During his journey, Vissant will cross 15 countries from Europe, Asia and Oceania. He will be accompanied by a follower truck and his physiotherapist.

He started his challenge this Sunday.
