Africa Cameroon: Iya Mohammed re-elected at the head of FECAFOOT

Iya-Mohammed2-300x177After an electric atmosphere, the general assembly of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) finally took place. Delegates at the headquarters of FECAFOOT to elect a new president, found places crowded by the police.

Determined to go to elections, the General Assembly finally passed the vote in the night. The outgoing president Mohammed Iya has been elected at the head of the governing body of football in Cameroon. He was re-elected by 97 votes to 98 possible.

According to the media in Cameroon, Iya Mohammed is in prison for embezzlement, it is his first vice-president, Francis Mveng who will lead the Cameroonian Football Federation.
