Africa U20 World Cup: Ghana in the quarterfinals for the sixth consecutive time

ghana2-300x198Already 5 participations in the U20 World Cup , Ghana has never stopped in the knockout finals. Blacks Satellites come to confirm this statistic by winning Portugal (3-2), yet leader and winner of Nigeria in Group B of the 19th edition of the World Cup taking place in Turkey.

Winner of the 2009 edition with the generation of Andre Ayew, Ghana shows as a real potential for the trophy even though he was beaten 3-1 by France and Spain (1-0) in each of the first and second day of pool A.

Double silver medalist in 2001 and 1993, the African representatives’ survivor was eliminated in the quarterfinals in 1997 and was unhappy after the ranking match of 1993 edition.

For its sixth participation, Ghana will meet Chile in the quarterfinals Sunday. The coach Sellas Tetteh winner of the 2009 edition is still in the running for another coronation.
