The Caribbean was taken out in the second round of the competition by Argentinian Juan Monaco.

The seeded No. 5 has obtruded in two identical sets, 6/4, 6/4, after 1 h 12 min of play.  He will thus be the next opponent of Benoit Paire who came over yesterday in the second round the Spanish Albert Montanes (6/1, 6/4).
