Africa Ethiopia: Death of the former athlete Meskerem Legesse, the baby safe and sound

olympia-laeuferin-tot_580x325-300x168The former Ethiopian athlete Meskerem Legesse pregnant of 8 months died Monday of a heart attack at the age of 26. Meskerem Legesse had abandoned athletics because of her heart problems.

Her biggest competition is the 2004 Olympic Games where she ran the 1500m. Legesse was eliminated before the final. She had a few records of her country as a junior. The baby’s life is not in danger.

The former athlete was dinning at a Chinese restaurant with his two year old son when she felt discomfort. She was transported to the hospital, where she died.
