The Aspire Academy is a sports academy at the heart of a sporting revolution currently taking place in Qatar and around the region. They are conceiving, promoting and implementing game-changing excellence in sports that is enabling an entire generation of highly-skilled, disciplined and competent individuals, both Qataris and otherwise.

The academy was established by an Emiri Decree, No. 16 of 2004, as an independent government-funded agency that reported directly to HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani through HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.

At the time, Aspire Academy was mandated to “provide sports training and education to students with sporting potential, in an exceptional learning and sporting environment, in order to have athletes that are well trained on the educational, practical and academic levels in the various sports fields to meet the needs of the Qatari society and realize its aspirations in regional and international sports competitions”, says Aspire.qa.org.

But today we can realize that the obectives of the academy is getting shaped for a universal promotion of new youthful talents rather than getting limited to national ends.

This then enabled visites to the academy of the world’s greatest celebreties such as Pele, Diego Maradona and many other athletes including Ed MEd Moses, Said Aouita and Hisaham El Guerrouj, the swimmer Mark Spitz, the footballer Rabah Madjer and the gymnast Nadia Comaneci.
