Unknown5-300x116A real phenomenon that makes the pride of Africa. As Africa Top Sports.com reported, Kenya’s Edna Kiplagat retained her title of world marathon champion yesterday in Moscow.

She won it two years ago in Daegu, South Korea.

She became the first woman to retain the world title in the marathon! She has made a great stopwatch: 2h 25 min 44 sec, she beat the Italian Valeria Straneo (2h 25:58.) and the Japanese Kayoko Fukushi (2h 27:45.).

The champion is 34 years old! She is mother of four children!

Kiplagat is trained by her husband, Gilbert Koech Cheruiyot, with whom she had her two youngest children.
