New Arsenal signing Mesut Ozil believes the Gunners have a realistic chance of winning trophies this season. Arsene Wenger’s side last lifted a trophy back in 2005, when they won the FA Cup, but Ozil, who joined from Real Madrid on  transfer deadline day, believes the London club can end their eight-year wait this season.

Asked if Arsenal can win trophies this season, the midfielder tells the club’s website: “Definitely. In the last few years,  Arsenal haven’t been so successful but we want to become more successful. We want to win trophies. I think the fans are looking forward to that too. We have a very strong and a very young team that can improve a lot under the manager. I think we will win trophies because we have the potential [to do so]”.
