Africa Ghana: The way people suffer in Chorkor motivated me to form the SteppApp foundation, Stephen Appiah

appiahA Former Black Stars captain Stephen ‘Tonado’ Appiah on Rainbow Sports hosted by Nana Prempeh admit the main motivation behind setting up his foundation was the way he sees people suffer in Chorkor:a fishing community in Greater accra region of Ghana where he grew up. Appiah is one of the sportsmen in Ghana who has dedicated to give back to community what the country has given him.  The foundation is based on Health and Education
In 2010, Appiah launched StepApp community Library in Chorkor. The StepApp Foundation‘s community library is the only library in the local community serving children, youth and adults. The library was established in response to a critical challenge affecting the local Community. Stephen’s ambition was to help the people of his area looking at the health and education standard of the people. He explained that he believes in one way or the other he has also been helped by these people.
Just after Ghana’s first World Cup in Germany 2006, Stephen registered 100 people for free under the National Health insurance Scheme.Two years ago, Stephen built a Mother Health Care at Chorkor to provide health care and education for the people.
