Manchester City manager
Manuel Pellegrini has been holding his news conference ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium. He said: “
Vincent Kompany has worked normally the whole week and has no problem for this weekend. I think it is important to win the Champions League match. I think for us to start with a win is key to confidence from the players. I don’t need to be here to realise how important this match is – working and living here, I know it’s a special game.
“Football in England is important and the most important thing is that the fans enjoy the game and I’m sure we’re going to have a good match. It’s not my duty to analyse Manchester United, David Moyes is a very good manager but I don’t want to analyse Manchester United. It’s impossible not to be under a lot of pressure taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson but I think that is a good way to work. It’s very important to win it and we must win it.”
