Former Nigeria footballer and coach Sampson Siasia has caution Nigerians not to under-estimate the Walya Antelopes of Ethiopia. Many Nigerian football fans have celebrated the draw as a certain walkover but Siasia cautions that Ethiopia is not a Walkover, they can pull surprise because they are hungry to qualify to their maiden World cup.

“We’ve played against Ethiopia before, when I was Super Eagles coach, and we had a difficult time against them in Addis Ababa, we shouldn’t underrate them this time around, we have to prepare well before meeting them next month.” Siasia stated that there are no minnows in African football anymore, and warned the players to approach the game against Ethiopia with all seriousness to avoid any upset.

“There are no more easy teams in African football, if our players think Ethiopia are easy and they don’t do their job right, we might be surprised in the game. “It depends on how you play the away games; the home games mostly are like walkovers, but you have to take both matches very seriously,” Siasia said.
