Olympique Marseille player Dede Ayew has apologised to the St Etienne player after the Ghanaian’s rash tackle injured Mollo at the Stade Velodrome. Ayew felt very sorry after his late tackle on the on-loan Nancy player, whose club has revealed he suffered a sprained ankle in the incident.
Ayew said after the game that he had no intention of doing harm to Mollo insisting he has good relationship with the player. “I was late but I never feared I would be sent off because I never had the intention of doing him harm,” Ayew said. The linesman said he had seen it all and he advised a yellow card to Mr Ennjimi. I know Yohan well and I never had any wish to do him harm. I hope it’s not serious and that he can play at the weekend.”
Ayew was booked by referee Said Ennjimi just after the tackle. The game ended 2-1 in favour of Marseille courtesey Benjamin Mendy and Gianelli Imbula. Faouzi Ghoulam scored the only goal for Saint-Étienne.
