Africa Dominic Adiyiah makes a case

DominicAdiyiah-RegginaDominic Adiyiah scored again for Arsenal Kyiv to make a strong case for a call up into Ghana’s squad for next month’s World Cup playoffs against Egypt. The 23-year-old scored the only goal to help Arsenal Kyiv’s progress in the Ukrainian Cup at the expense of Hoverla on Wednesday afternoon.
It is the second goal for the Ghana international in 11 days at club level and his fifth in seven games. Adiyiah’s impressive scoring record in recent games put him right in the mix for a Black Stars call up for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
Ghana needs to record a resounding win over the record African Cup winners to ensure the return encounter is reduced to a mere formality. The former AC Milan player could therefore be a welcome addition to Ghana’s striking options to support lead striker Asamoah Gyan. Adiyiah must however keep up his impressive scoring rate to catch the eye of Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah who is set to name his squad after taking a brief tour of Europe to monitor players.
