Africa John Paintsil wants Richard Kingson back to the Black Stars

paintsil1Ghana defender John Paintsil has backed the rumoured return of goalkeeper Richard Kingson to the Black Stars for the crucial 2014 World Cup playoff against Egypt. The 35-year-old is widely rumoured to be on his way to staging a Black Stars return following a visit by Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah to Cyprus to check on his form.
Kingson’s return, by many, is to help address a recent concern over Ghana’s perceived weakened goalkeeping department with the recent form of first choice Fatawu Dauda very suspect due to his clubinactivity since joining Orlando Pirates. Several others have also argued the former English Premier League campaigner is not the right person to address the recent goalkeeping concerns in the Black Stars have stayed out of first team action for over two-and-a-half years.
But Kingson’s international teammate John Paintsil is in support of any move to reinstate the ex Birmingham, Wigan and Blackpool glovesman as Ghana’s first choice. “He doesn’t play with is training, I mean he works more than the young ones anytime he is in camp,” he said.
I believe and have so much confidence in him that when he comes he will justify himself and finds himself in a better position.
Ghana coach Akwasi Appiah his meanwhile expected to name his squad for next month’s crucial 2014 World Cup playoff against Egypt sometime next week.
