Africa Duncan warns Luggard over form

ttAfter conceding three goals in two games, Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Tetteh Luggard has come under pressure from die-hard Phobian faithfuls and that has prompted head coach David Duncan to issue a warning to the club’s Number One over his seemingly erratic form. Luggard has conceded what fans describe as three cheap goals in his last two outings for Hearts.
The club beat debutants Inter Allies 3-2 last week and followed up with a 2-1 win over Sekondi Hasaacas last Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium. Tetteh Luggard is said to have allowed a Samuel Afful loose ball to beat him after Emmanuel Hayford had given the Rainbow lads the lead in the 18th minute. It took the intervention of inform Winful Cobbinah to restore Hearts lead to a comfortable 2-1 victory in their fourth week of the FA Premier league match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Duncan warned Luggard to backup or risk the chance of going out of the first team. “Tetteh Luggard must up his game to boost his confidence in our future games. He is still part of the team though,” Coach Duncan told journalists after the midweek encounter. Duncan spoke about the team’s dearth in goalkeeping options as only two were registered for the season.
Hearts have just two goalies in the senior set up. Like I always say in the game of football, players and coaches, at a point in time, must up their game as a matter of individual resolve.”
