According an information released by our colleagues from Safa.net, a football team from SAFA Capricorn in Limpopo has learnt the hard way that taking football matters to courts is a cardinal sin.

Thogwaneng Manchester United has been expelled from all football activities with immediate effect for breaching a key world governing soccer body FIFA rule, never to take football matters to court.

Unhappy about the verdict of their case that was heard by disciplinary committee, Appeals Board and arbitration, Thogwaneng decided to take their case to courts of law.

The matter was heard by the Polokwane Magistrate Court and subsequent to the hearing; the South African Football Association (SAFA) then charged them in line with Article 71.1.of SAFA Statutes.

The SAFA disciplinary committee found them guilty and expelled Thogwaneng from all football activities with immediate effect.

“This should send out a clear message to all teams, individuals and organisations that taking football matters to courts is a sin that carries maximum penalty,” said SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble.
