World No. 51 Bernard Tomic has appointed Croatian Velimir Zovko as his new coach until his father John Tomic gets out of ban in May.
Senior Tomic is currently suffering an ITF implemented ban after assaulting his former training partner.
The reason for this choice of coach according to the 21-year-old player is to facilitate communication as the coach coming from Croatia will share the same language with him.
”Obviously he’s from Croatia, he speaks my language, and it’s very important for me to have a good communication, someone that understands me, my background, because it’s not easy – I’m a difficult sort of guy,” Tomic said.
