Africa Top Sports reported earlier on Ghana’s prior complaints to Fifa claiming a neutral venue for their qualifier against Egypt due to political instability in Cairo. Fifa through Jerome Valcke assured Ghana delegation about a high security in Cairo for their World Cup qualifier during a meeting in the Togolese capital.
So the Ghanaian delegation thinks the Egyptian authorities deserve their applause as they took pride in a safe and sound journey in Cairo when they lost 2-1 to Egypt to win an aggregate 7-3 win to seal a berth in next year’s World Cup in Brazil.

”Our genuine concerns about security in Cairo were addressed methodically and surgically by our hosts in Egypt thanks to the collaboration with the Ghana Football Association, FIFA as well as Egyptian and Ghanaian state security,” the Minister acknowledged.

”It must be put on record that the authorities in Egypt provided top class security and protocol to ensure the comfort of the entire contingent from Ghana.

”On behalf of His Excellency President Mahama, the GFA and the people of Ghana, I wish to thank the Egyptian FA and FIFA for safeguarding the good of the beautiful game at all times and keeping their promise of ensuring the safety of team Ghana before, during and after the match.”
