Brazil 2014 Ghana defender Boye ready to switch off Cristiano in Brazil

John-Boye-2Ghana is expected to suffer the attacking prowess of Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid as the Black Stars are drawn to play successively the USA, Germany and Portugal in Word Cup Brazil group stage.
But defender Ghana defender John Boye of French Ligue 1 Rennes urges his compatriots to relax as he is ready to prevent the former Manchester United star from netting when Black Stars take Portugal on in Brazil.
“We are prepared as defenders and I am sure we will handle him (Cristiano Ronaldo),” the Stade Rennes stopper told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.
“We know that he is a big player so for me, if I am marking him, I will also do my best for people to also know that I am a good defender.
“We will know how to mark him and be with him so that he doesn’t run around with the ball.
“As defenders, we have to talk to ourselves and concentrate on the game so I am sure all will be fine.”
Injured in October, Boye brought smile to coach Kwesi Appiah -left with none of his key defenders -by returning to training with his French-based side Monday.
