Brazil 2014 World Cup 2014 friendlies: Ghana to take on Netherlands

Ghana-Football-National-TeamGhana Football Association have revealed ongoing discussions over an eventual friendly match against the Netherlands ahead of the Fifa 2014 Brazil World Cup.
The GFA have undertaken talks with several countries for Black Stars to play as many friendlies as possible before next year’s mass competition whose group stage announced very tough for Coach Kwesi Appiah and his troop as they were drawn in Group F alongside world football icons Portugal, Germany, and USA.
However Stars’ captain Asamoah Gyan expressed no bit fear for icons and thinks Ghana is endowed with world class players evolving in major European leagues who are capable of beating any team worldwide.
Even Kwesi Appiah expressed himself backing his captain but highlighted that Ghana can achieve great in the upcoming competition if only Ghanaians regardless sex and age can stand up tall and support their stars.
“Holland is a possible opponent but nothing has been firmed up yet,” Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara said when asked about a proposed friendly against Holland on Peace FM.

“We are looking to play at least three high profile friendly matches before the World Cup.

“At this point various dynamics come into play but once everything is formed up the announcement will be made.”
Ghana former President John Kufuor and current President John Mahama urged Black Stars to exceed previously attained heights (quarter-final in South Africa) in Brazil.
