Europe Spain football: Luis Aragones passed away

Luis Aragones, coach of Roja at Euro 2008, died Saturday morning at the age of 75, the result of a long illness. The announcement of his death was made by Dr. Pedro Guillén on the Spanish National Radio (RNE).

After a rich football career that saw him evolve for ten years at Atletico Madrid (1964-1974) and won the league three times (1966 , 1970 , 1973) as well as a top scorer title, Aragones kissed the coaching career in colchoneros in 1974 where he won La Liga in particular (1977) and three Copa del Rey (1976, 1985, 1992 ). He won the same award at the head of FC Barcelona in 1988.

Luis Aragones has made a name in Spain as coach of Roja (2004-2008) by winning Euro 2008. A coronation expected by the countries since 1964.

In early December, he announced in an interview his retirement before returning to his words a little later, still interested in leading a team, as long as a good enough offer could come. As a player, he had 11 caps for Spain.
