The French international is expected to leave the hospital on Wednesday. He posted on Twitter:

Having been subject to a liver transplant in 2012, Eric Abidal returned to competition in the Barça shirt before committing to Monaco earlier this season. The captain of the Rock had also made his return to France team last summer but Didier Deschamps has not selected him for the friendly against the Netherlands on Wednesday at Stade de France (21 hours).

David Venditelli, his agent confirmed: “When it comes to Eric, the media gets packed, but it’s just an inspection about a drug he took to treat his flu.”
