This is the 14th goal of Cristiano Ronaldo in the competition this season (8 games). It confirms his status as top scorer this season and also he breaks the record of goals scored in a C1 season. Van Nistelrooy, Altafini and Messi during last season held the record.
Cristiano Ronaldo has also tied with Alberto Di Stefano, Real Madrid’s top scorer in the European Cup with 49 goals.
